Meet
Dr. McLagan is proud to be a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He continues engaging in professional development and collaborative learning to help you get the absolute best care possible. He is also a board-certified orthodontist—a distinction that not all dentists or orthodontists hold. Achieving board certification requires additional training, testing, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient care, which Dr. McLagan pursued to ensure his patients receive expert treatment.
As the founder of Teach Teeth, an initiative he launched during his time at Pepperdine University, Dr. McLagan has worked to educate underserved Hispanic communities about the importance of oral hygiene. Teach Teeth hosts educational presentations in English and Spanish.

Dr. McLagan is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. While that’s not an achievement that every orthodontist has, Dr. McLagan did for his patients. He also serves on the Board of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society, and is the Vice-President of the Tennessee Valley Dental Study Club.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Raymond McLagan is proud to call Scenic City home. After meeting his wife and college sweetheart, Mary Claire, at Pepperdine University, the couple chose to settle in Chattanooga, Mary Claire’s hometown. Her family’s deep roots in the area, including her father, who is an oral surgeon in town, made the move a natural and meaningful fit.
Dr. McLagan’s greatest joy comes from spending time with his family outside the office. He and Mary Claire have been inseparable since their graduation and marriage in 2017, and together they’re now raising two wonderful children: their one-year-old son, Coleman, and their newborn daughter, Cecilia May. Completing the family is Odie, their loyal and energetic dog who ensures there is never a dull moment at home.
When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. McLagan enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. You can often find him playing with his kids, hitting the tennis courts, running, biking, or exploring the scenic hiking trails around Chattanooga.
